The topic of my first blog post for Zillow is “3 Steps When the Appraisal Comes in Low,” an unfortunate scenario that can kill a real estate sale if it arises and the parties are not willing or able to adjust accordingly. I have dealt with this firsthand and it can be very frustrating for clients.
When I first shared this article, a friend made a very astute observation that this can be avoided if the selling agent ensures the property is appropriately priced from the get-go. I couldn’t agree more, and as an agent, I pull comps for both my buyers and my sellers to ensure prices are realistic.
